Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa: Passion for Neuroscience
Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, MD, has a passion for learning that led him from work as a migrant farmer to recognition as one of the top neurosurgeons in the world. Quinones-Hinojosa operates on patients with brain tumors and studies their tumors in his laboratory at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in hopes of finding a cure for their cancers. He cites the importance of mentorship in achieving his goals.
He is one of 579 scholars to take part in the Neuroscience Scholars Program (NSP), a career development and diversity program sponsored by the Society for Neuroscience and funded by the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke.
