The Domino Effect of Neurons

Neurons send electrical impulses down their long, fibrous projections called axons, transmitting information throughout the nervous system. How they do this can be compared to a domino effect. 

Access the Domino Effect activity from the Exploratorium to show students how firing neurons set off a chain reaction similar to dominoes falling down a line.
